Recurring Yeast Infections And Its Causes
The
extreme growth of the yeast fungus in the vagina leads to
yeast infections. The yeast fungus is referred to as Candida.
When this infection occurs for more than four times in a
year, then it is regarded as recurring
yeast infection. There are a number of ways in which
this infection can occur.
The
substance, Progestogen which is included in birth control
pills can cause recurring yeast infections. It is assumed
that birth control pills bear a high level of this substance
which is responsible for breeding yeast fungus. It has also
been discovered that discontinuation of such pills will
keep yeast infections from happening.
Taking in food rich in sugars such as candies
can also cause recurring yeast infections. Yeast fungus
helps in the digestion of sugars and when sugar in the body
is present in abundance; candid albicans feed on them and
multiply rapidly causing yeast infections.
Another common cause of yeast infection
is tight fitting clothing and non cotton undergarments.
Due to sweating, these undergarments absorb moisture and
heat and when rubbed against the body, they provide a nurturing
base for the yeast fungus. The most important thing to keep
in mind here is to wear clean and dry non fitting clothes
always.
Chances of getting recurring yeast infection
are high in diabetic women. Yeast feeds on glucose and glycogen
and when the blood sugar levels are high, yeast cells multiply
expeditiously and women encounter recurring yeast infections.
However, most people have a weak immune
system which develops from long-term consumption of antibiotics
and other prescription medicines. It can also result from
HIV and other kinds of diseases. Women with weak immune
system are highly exposed recurring yeast infections.
Abrasion of the vaginal membranes may also
lead to yeast infections. Such infections are most likely
to spread to your bed partner if you do not have safe sex.
This will in turn result in both of you contracting the
disease and passing it on among yourselves. A wise decision
is to have safe sex when you know you are suffering from
the infection.
Recurring
yeast infections occur due to a number of different reasons.
If you happen to develop symptoms of the infection, then
you should consult your doctor to find out the exact cause
of it. After you have known the cause, it will become easy
to look for suitable treatments and remedies
to cure the infection.
